Synopsis

The emphasis on using data to drive business efficiency in the industrial sector is continually increasing.

Given that many cloud based organisations have proven the value of this approach it’s easy to conclude that instrumentation, control and automation should be able to drive efficiencies in this space also.

This talk intends to address an often hidden challenge when attempting to unlock the value potential from obvious big data sources on our industrial sites – the physical layer of data connectivity including IIoT devices, networks and infrastructure, as well as bp’s recent activity in using robotics platforms to unlock value from these areas.

FUTURE EVENTS

Heads Up: Next month: Tues 13th July: Intelligent Wearables.

We aim to have a technical presentation on the second Tuesday of each month until June 2021. At the present time we are planning only for webinar events.  If you have a suitable presentation, or feel that there is a subject we should be covering, please contact our Programme Secretary , Henry Downes on Henry.Downes@InstMC.org. As and when conditions allow we will recommence face to face lectures, and reinstigate our social programme. Malcolm GeorgeChairman
