About Us
Welcome to the Malaysia Section which was established on 29th June 2009. It was intended to realise the vision of several InstMC members, comprising of both Malaysian and other foreign members residing and working in Malaysia, to have a platform for common interests such as technical talks, informal social sessions, mini seminars and workshops.
Among the activities held in the past were Member Meets (informal chit-chat sessions), Technical Talks, Seminars in collaboration with other professional bodies, Career talks for University Students, membership drives at several oil and gas companies and universities, and the distribution of promotional presentation materials about InstMC. All activities so far have been held in capital city of Kuala Lumpur, except membership drives which were held at several locations throughout Malaysia. However, of late there have been no face-to-face meeting held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
From merely 10 members at the start, InstMC membership from Malaysia has grown to more than 40 with additional affiliations of members from nearby countries such as Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand and India. Our Section has a respectable numbers of members who are registered as Chartered Engineers.
