FLOW MEASUREMENT IN SUPPORT OF CARBON CAPTURE UTILISATION AND STORAGE (CCUS)

Flow Measurement SIG have produced a horizon scan report, conducted by TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory, entitled ‘Flow Measurement in Support of Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)’. The report has been sent to the Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, President of COP26, along with a letter from InstMC President, Martin Belshaw, stating that accurate and repeatable measurement standards do not exist across the CCUS value chain. The report highlights that there is a major gap in capability which will make it difficult to regulate this emerging field and credibly account for carbon savings if this is not addressed.
