WEBINAR TECHNICAL PRESENTATION. Our Next Presentation will be onTUESDAY  8th February 2022at 5.00PM

TITLE :Temperature measurement in the process industry:Thermowell Vs Non-InvasivePRESENTER: Marc SnoswellCOMPANY: ABB

Synopsis

Thermowells have been the mainstay of temperature measurement in the process industry. Although proven in use, they come with significant drawbacks that not only include the potential for catastrophic failure but entail significant engineering consideration to ensure accuracy and performance during the lifecycle of a facility. An alternative, safer and simpler approach would be to utilize process piping as a sensor- a non-invasive temperature measurement. In this talk we will examine the physics that demonstrates eliminating the need for a thermowell and presents new approaches to overcoming some of the significant drawbacks of traditional surface temperature measurements.

REGISTRATION

If you wish to attend please email to LIS@instmc.org, and a link email will be provided 48hrs before the presentation. The presentation will be means of MS Teams, this does not require a download of software, and can be viewed on any web browser.

FUTURE EVENTS

Heads Up: Next month: Tues March 8th Jet Mixing Technology for Pressure Sensitive Sampling

We aim to have an online  technical presentation normally on the second Tuesday of each month until July 2022. At the present time we are planning only for webinar events.  If you have a suitable presentation, or feel that there is a subject we should be covering, please contact us on LIS@instMC.org As and when conditions allow we will recommence face to face lectures, and reinstigate our social programme. Malcolm GeorgeChairman
