Safety Challenges for the Energy Transition: 2 Part Series

As we move away from energy sources rooted in fossil fuels, we have to look for new ways to find and store our energy. Decarbonisation requires us to generate energy differently, but also to store the carbon dioxide from existing energy sources as we transition. Both sides of this coin have their own unique safety challenges based around gas hazards and we cover these in a series of two tech-talk online webinars presented by Megan Hine of Draeger.

The first tech-talk will cover the differences between detecting hydrogen vs detecting hydrocarbons. This includes detector selection and gas behaviour for both blended hydrogen hydrocarbon mixes and 100% hydrogen systems.

The second covers the toxic risks of CO2, detection methodologies, detector placement and gas behaviour upon release. (24th October 2023).
