Associate membership is normally offered to individuals who are employed in measurement and control occupations but whose levels of technical qualifications and responsibility otherwise precludes them from admission to full membership. Through the InstMC they may also be eligible for registration as Engineering Technician (EngTech) with the Engineering Council. 

 

Qualifying conditions required

  1. A National Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or
  2. an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship or
  3. level 3 NVQ/SVQ etc. or equivalent

AND

  1. be working at Technician level in ‘measurement and control’ or in a relevant field.
