Weighing & Force Measurement Panel

The Weighing & Force Measurement Panel (WFMP) has a remit of considering and promoting standards, codes of practice, and general understanding in all areas of industrial process weighing and force measurement. This remit includes issues related to load cells, including their design, their application, and their associated signal processing equipment.

The Panel reports to the Learned Society Board of the Institute, and its membership has varied between ten and twelve members of eminent standing in the fields of industrial weighing and force measurement. The Panel has taken great care to ensure that there has always been a balanced representation from academia and research organisations as well as end users and manufacturers.

Further details of the Panel's work, including downloadable guides and a directory of relevant documents, can be found on the NPL website. Alternatively, there is a downloadable link from our Technical OnLine Library.

If you would like to comment on any issues relevant to the Panel, including making suggestions for future guidance documents, please contact the Chairman of the Panel: Mannie Panesar, e-mail: mannie.panesar@nmo.gov.uk
