UID:420 DESCRIPTION: \n\n\n\nIndustry is seeing an increasing focus on system efficiency in response to regulations surrounding climate change. One key focus is reduction of methane emissions from existing process plants. In 2021, the UN launched the Global Methane Pledge supported by the EU and the US. The goal: Goal: Reduce global methane emissions by at least 30% by 2030 (compared to 2020 levels). In support, the US EPA has launched the LDAR (leak detection and repair) program. The EU is working on releasing an equivalent program in Europe.\n\nIn 2022 the US added a costly ‘waste emissions charge’ associated with methane leaks which is payable under the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act). Companies can avoid paying the fee by more closely monitoring and repairing their methane emissions. The cost of equipment to help reduce methane emissions is greatly reduced by comparison to the fees required for methane emissions.\n\nDraeger present their methane optical gas imaging camera which gives wide area emissions monitoring and provides a dual safety function – the only device on the market to offer both. Many older assets are deficient in safety coverage and have a propensity to leak. OGI allows the operator to combat both problems at once. We will discuss how the device works and how best to deploy this technology to improve emissions monitoring and reduce potential financial exposure.\n\n \n\nTo join the MS Teams event please click here\n \n\n DTSTART:20250409T110000Z DTEND:20250409T120000Z LOCATION:MS Teams END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
