10 March 2010 – Process Sector workshop will include the HSE perspective on the application of risk assessment for control and safety instrumented systems followed by introductions to the principles of risk graph and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) techniques.  Delegates will then use and compare both risk assessments methods by participating in a process related SIL determination exercise.

11 March 2010 – Machinery Sector workshop will include the HSE perspective on the current standards followed by introductions on the use of risk assessment techniques for the machinery sector.  Delegates will then participate in a machinery-related SIL and PL (Performance Level) determination exercise, followed by an introduction to the architectures of Safety Related Controls.
